This just in -- Tom DeLay's father died when family allowed doctors to pull the plug...shameful.
Not the act itself. We treat our pets more humanely than our loved ones, instructing veterinarians to euthanize them when there is no hope, but get our panties in a bunch when it's suggested that we allow our doctors to do the same.
No, it's DeLay's hypocrisy. Not only did he agree to pulling the plug after his dad suffered serious head and torso injuries after DeLay's father and uncle gerryrigged a self-made tram in Texas, he became a plaintiff in a wrongful death suit against a manufacturer of a piece of equipment used in the death tram.
So, the former bug exterminator turned Senator has done a 180 on both right-to-life and tort reform.
What is wrong with this guy? Worse, what is wrong with Texans for continuing to re-elect this idiotic malcontent? What's worse, a man who has no scruples, ethics, or morals, or a bunch of gun-toting, beer drinking-and-driving nincompoops electing him to serve public office?
I guess, now that I put it that way, it all makes sense. This is a great example of effective representative government. Now I get it.
